Quinn Ellis' basketball ascension continues. The 21-year old Yorkshire-born lefty is headed to the 2024 NBA Summer League with the Portland Trailblazers after having a couple of breakout season in Italy with EuroCup side, Aquila Basket Trento.
Ellis was averaging 8.9 points along with 3.8 dimes and 2.8 rebounds in EuroCup competition, whilst also averaging 6.3 points and 2.8 assists in domestic competition in Italy's top division and has been labelled as one of the top undrafted free agents in the market.
His rise to this point has been nothing short of impressive. It's rare to see British players make it as far as he has, but he is just another example of how it is possible to get onto the NBA scene having taken similar routes to many British players. From the familiar courts of Barking Abbey, to his selection with Team GB from the U16 level and upwards to the senior level, to his transition over to Italy where he began in the 2nd division and worked his way up to the EuroCup level and onto the radars of NBA teams, Ellis' journey thus far is a familiar one for many and hopefully and inspiring one.
You can catch the Trailblazers kick off their 2024 Summer League campaign on July 13th against the San Antonio Spurs.
