Quinn Ellis. He's been having a remarkable year. For those who were unfamiliar, he re-introduced himself on last year's Hoopsfix Classic stage at Crystal Palace taking home MVP honours. He showed out in the Hoopsfix Elite vs. California Basketball Club game at the Copper Box. Now, following a sensational season of pro ball in Italy's Serie A2, Ellis has entered his name into the 2023 NBA Draft.
Ellis has entered the draft as an early entrant, meaning he can remain in the draft process and see what teams become interested, whilst also having the option to withdraw only up until June 12th.
His announcement makes him the second brit this year to have their name entered in the draft, as he along with Princeton standout Tosan Evbuomwan will hope to hear their names called by Adam Silver in the upcoming draft.
Ellis' year as a pro for Novipiú Casale Monferrato finished with him averaging just over 11 PPG, 4.5 REBS and 4.4 ASTS, including a recent a game where he dropped 26 points shooting 100% from 3-point range.
Not only that, but the 20-year old has already secured his first cap with team GB. He announced himself on the international stage in a matchup against European powerhouses Serbia, where he dropped 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
His performances at the senior international level as well as professionally spell nothing but positives for the young Yorkshire point guard going forward. With the current state of basketball right now, especially in the NBA where a lot of players are no longer taking the traditional college route and are coming from different places overseas, it seems like no time is as good as now for Ellis to take this step in his basketball journey.
"Quinn is the perfect example of hard work," said Ellis' agent Marco Calise in a press release with Hoopsfix . "He has been constantly getting better over the years taking advantage of every opportunity and platform he had. This is just another step in his growing journey."
