The back-to-back British Basketball League MVP Geno Crandall is set for new beginnings in Germany following a buyout from his Leicester Riders contract by Gottingen.
It had only been 10 days since Geno was confirmed for the Riders roster for the upcoming 2022-2023 season, by the Riders had said that they were ready and open for a team to make an offer on Crandall.
“We always said that if a team came in for Geno, and he wanted to go, we wouldn’t stand in his way, provided the club was compensated,” said Managing Director, Russell Levenston.
Geno's BBL career as a Leicester Rider is definitely one to remember. He helped lead them to multiple domestics titles in his two-year spell, as well as winning multiple MVP awards as well as the 2022 playoff MVP aswell.
His impact on the court will most definitely be missed, especially as the Riders look to prepare for the Basketball Champions League this upcoming season.
