The Caledonia Gladiators have been confirmed as one of 24 participants in this year's Basketball Champions League Qualifiers.
The BCL is known worldwide as one of the toughest club competitions in Europe, behind that of the EuroCup and the EuroLeague. With 28 clubs already confirmed for the BCL 2024/2025 Regular season, just four spots remain and the Gladiators will hope to secure one of them.
The news comes after a lot of controversy surrounding the British Basketball League, with the status of the upcoming season uncertain following the league's termination of their operating license. Amongst all this, is the bright spark that is the Caledonia Gladiators, who so far, are the only British Basketball League team to confirm European competition for the upcoming season. Even if the Gladiators don't get through BCL Qualifying proceedings, a spot in the FIBA Europe Cup regular season is confirmed for them.
