Brent Bulls Intend To Apply For A WBBL Franchise For The 2023/2024 Season

There are a few clubs that have developed a strong presence within the British Basketball Community and in a short space of time since being founded in 2020, the Brent Bulls have quickly become one of those clubs.

Their women's side took home the WNBL D2 title in the 2021/2022 season and will look to make waves in Division 1 this year with new head coach, Tope Alli-Balogun who's experience with Barking Abbey, another household name within British Basketball, will most certainly be a huge benefit to the North-West London Side.

Now, the Bulls have announced that they will intend to apply for a WBBL Franchise for the 2023/2024 season, a move that could make them the second London based team in Women's Professional Basketball alongside the London Lions.

In the Bulls press-release, club director Clive Castillo talked about the potential of this move into the top-flight of women's basketball in the UK. "I’ve had a positive meeting with the WBBL earlier in the year, and we have expressed a strong interest to join the league next year. We believe with the talent pool in London, the popularity of the women’s game, and the resources and facilities in Brent especially in the Wembley area, our club will have a formal and sustainable application which we hope the WBBL will consider."
