The Sheffield Hatters will now be known as the B. Braun Sheffield Hatters, as the award-winning healthcare company agree to a new sponsorship deal with the UK's most successful women's British Basketball clubs, having won 65 titles in 60 years since their formation in 1961.
The deal extends the relationship between B. Braun and Sheffield Basketball, with the Sheffield Sharks already in partnership with the company. B. Braun Medical LTD will also support the Junior Sharks and the Sharks Physio as a part of the 3-year deal. As well as this, the Hatters will also sport B. Braun branding on their game jerseys.
For the Hatters, this sponsorship deal is a move in the right direction for Women's Sports and one they hope will help in their efforts to create inspirational role models for the next generation. “The inclusion of the Sheffield Hatters in B. Braun’s sponsorship portfolio is a significant step for women’s sport," said Sarah Backovic, the GM of the B. Braun Sheffield Hatters. “We have seen a tremendous amount of increased participation in women’s basketball and the Sheffield Hatters, in partnership with B. Braun, will be inspirational role models to those young women who participate in the B. Healthy B. Braun initiative.”
